21st Kinomichi Intensive Training Course in Rio de Janeiro | Barcco

We are getting set for the upcoming 21st Kinomichi Intensive Training Course and celebrating this unique event, which will be attended by Micaela Perera Diaz, who is regular hakama practitioner from Uruguay.

The Intensive will take place at the Barcco dojo (www.barcco.art), the training venue of Christiana Cavalcanti, a dancer and practitioner dedicated to Kinomichi since 1990. A student of Master Noro, the founder of Kinomichi, for over 20 years in Paris, and a member of the K.I.I.A. (International Association of Kinomichi Instructors, Paris), Christiana has led workshops at various cultural venues across Brazil and South America, attracting a diverse audience ranging from body therapists, martial arts instructors and practitioners to directors, artists, actors, dancers and teachers of other body arts.

Micaela Perera Diaz, born in Montevideo, is a ceramicist and sculptor. She is a co-founder of the Artistic Training Workshops at the Torres García Museum (1999), where she has been teaching ceramics ever since. She has been practising Aikido, a Japanese martial art, since 2009, and began practising Kinomichi in 2015. In 2019, she established the Kokoro Dojo / Espaço Crisol in Montevideo to provide a place of practice where this wonderful art of movement could be developed in Uruguay. She is currently a Kinomichi Regular Hakama and teaches under Christiana’s supervision. Kinomichi has been the driving force behind a profound transformation in all areas of her life, including her creative practice.

Kinomichi arrived in Brazil in 2003, brought by Christiana Cavalcanti and Victor Labouret, both disciples of Master Noro since 1990. Come and be part of this transformative gathering and deepen your practice with us!

Programme

9 October to 18 October 2026

Friday 9 October: welcome ceremony and practice from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm!

Saturday to Tuesday: practice from 8.00 am to 2.30 pm with a break for a snack;

Wednesday, 14 October: day off;

Thursday to Saturday: practice from 8.00 am to 2.30 pm with a break for a snack;

Sunday, 18 October: practice from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm and farewell ceremony!

Important

Please bring your Jo and Bokken (wooden sword and staff) and let us know if you are unable to travel with them, or if you do not yet have your own Jo and Bokken, so that we can lend you some here at the dojo.

Investment

Course fee: 1,950 brazilian reais

Hakamas: 1,800 brazilian reais

Instructors: 1,650 brazilian reais

Single day: 450 brazilian reais

Just one part, either before or after the Wednesday break: 1,500 brazilian reais

All fees, including single classes, can be paid in up to 5 instalments.
